The Ohio Champions League (OCL), started in 2009, is designed for youth soccer teams above the recreational level between the ages of U-07 and U-15. This season, we are pleased to be expanding "up" to include the Central Ohio Premier League (COPL). The COPL will include the top teams from the top clubs in the Central Ohio area. Nearly all of these teams are professionally-coached teams.
The COPL will offer an Elite Division for top level teams and a Premier Division for mid level teams. The Ohio Champions League will continue to offer the Blue Division for the upper level teams, the Red Division for mid-level teams and the White Division for lower level teams. In the Spring 2020 season, we expect to offer a full program up through U-19.
The primary mission of the OCL is to provide an enjoyable soccer environment for a wide range of players desiring to play above the basic community-based recreational program. The OCL provides its teams, coaches, parents and players with tremendous flexibility in terms of game scheduling dates/times, opponents (including younger/older aged-teams as desired by the coaches), number of games, etc. The league allows for in-season roster flexibility as well.
The primary mission of the COPL is to provide a competitive local soccer environment for the upper and mid-level teams from some of the top clubs in Central Ohio that will play games in Central Ohio. The COPL will offer teams with the opportunity to play against upper level and mid-level competition right here in Central Ohio without playing "home games" 60 miles from Columbus. The COPL will share many of the qualities of the OCL including flexibility in scheduling, roster flexibility and a willingness to be flexible to work for the benefit for all teams.
Teams from the OCL will be able to schedule games with COPL teams. Players will be able to move freely between the two programs within the same club.
In addition, the OCL and COPL will offer a joint season-ending tournaments at the end of each Fall and Spring season.
Should you have further questions about the OCL, please feel free to send us an e-mail
should you have any questions.

Tie-Breaker Rules For All
We are using the same tie-breaker rules we have always used. The software does not do a good job of handling head-to-head (a three-way tie does not work). Therefore, we have never used it when listing standings. Here are the tie-breakers for clarification:
1. Total Points (THREE points for a win, ONE for a tie and ZERO for a loss),
2. Head-to-head (if three or more teams are tied, will only be used if ONE TEAM has beaten ALL of the others),
3. Goal Differential (maximum of four per game),
4. Goals Conceded (maximum of four more than scored),
5. A 3-player for each team Kicks from the Mark (i.e. PK Shootout).
There are a few caveats to this when more than two teams are tied.
All Trophy Presentations are being done just behind the White Building on the Left Side (East Side) of the Park. You can't miss the white tent and shiny objects. First and Second place trophies are awarded in all divisions receive trophies. For eight team divisions ONLY, 3rd and 4th place trophies are awarded.
T-Shirts are available in the Center of the Parking Lot. Make sure to pick up a Sweat Shirt or T-Shirt to commemorate the weekend.
Please Do NOT Park in the Private Businesses Across from Complex
You run a HIGH RISK of getting towed if you park anywhere other than in the Complex. Last Spring MULTIPLE CARS were towed from these businesses. Park only in the park or run the risk of spending a couple hundred dollars retrieving your car.
Do NOT make a U-Turn on Scioto Darby or try to turn around near the park. On Saturday, please use the NW Bible Church that is 3/10ths of a mile past the park (about 2 minutes turn around time). We will have another option for Sunday.
Tournament scores are being posted online this weekend.
1. Go to the OCL home page
2. Hover over TEAM and then CHOOSE A TEAM and then Ohio Champions League (unless your team is one of the four playing in the COPL level).
3. If you have a younger boys team, you can continue to hover over the division....If not, you can click on Ohio Champions League and find your division and pool (if you are not sure of the division or pool, see directions below).
4. Click on Standings.
5. You can click on each individual team to get their results and/or their schedule.
If you are not sure of the division or pool, do the following::
1. Go to www.ohiochampionsleague.com
2. Hover over FORMS, RULES, MORE
3. Click on DOCUMENTS
4. Click on COPL/OCL Fall 2019 League Tournament Folder
5. Click on the latest Schedule
6. After downloading the spreadsheet, click on the List of Teams Tab.
7. The teams are listed by Age Group and Division and Pool. The Team # (A3, for example, means Pool A) determines the pool. If there is no letter (3, for example), there is no pool for that division (you an just click on the division).
If a Division and/or pool does not show standings, text 614-515-9300. We can make sure that the division is set up properly to show standings. Thanks.
NO LEFT TURN into Park: Please Broadcast to Parents
As stated previously, with no traffic control, the City has prohibited us from making left turns into the park. If coming from the East (that's from Downtown Hilliard/I-270), parents/coaches/referees will need to drive past the park and through the light. There is a church (NW Bible) that is 1/10 of a mile past the light at Alton Darby. They can drive through the turnaround and return to the park. Thank you.
NO ENTRANCE TO Hilliard Complex FROM EAST (I-270-Cemetery Rd.
We have uploaded a new map of the complex. There will be NO ENTRY to the Hilliard Complext (HC-Cn, HC-Dn, HC-En fields) from the EAST (i.e. coming across Cemetery Road from I-270). Please refer to directions posted on the site under CLUB NEWS, yesterday. We apologize for this inconvenience, but we must follow Hilliard Police Directives. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
We have added spaces (and will continue to add more this morning on the front left (north east) side of the facility per the map.
Ken and Team
I received the following e-mail from Locomotive SC earlier this afternoon. I am considering many options, at this point. Another e-mail/post will be coming later on today or this evening.
WARNING: EVEN THOUGH TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICERS WERE REQUESTED AND EXPECTED, WE WILL HAVE NO TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICERS THIS WEEKEND. GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE PARK IS GOING TO BE A TREMENDOUS CHALLENGE. THE ONLY WAY TO STAND A CHANCE OF CONDUCTING THIS EVENT IS TO HAVE FOLKS CAR POOL! Yes, we can look for alternate locations going forward, but that does not help us right now!
I am no logistics major, but based on what I have seen in past tournaments, there is going to be a tremendous back-up trying to get into the park since EVERYONE will have to enter from the WEST (and make a RIGHT TURN into the park). NO CARS WILL BE PERMITTED TO STOP ANYWHERE IN THE INBOUND LANE TO THE PARK. THIS MEANS NO DROPOFFS IN THE INBOUND LANE. Once you get to the back of the park, you will be able to either park or begin to come back to the front end of the park.
Here is the letter including directions:
Chief Fisher called to tell me Zero Hilliard officers have signed up for this weekend.
They reached out to Franklin County and State HP. No takers yet.
Regarding HPD's availability to do periodic drive-bys to monitor traffic they are stretched thin Saturday especially in the morning because Old Hilliard has a Halloween event.
Additionally the following road closure will impact westbound traffic on Scioto Darby. Closure will be in effect at a minimum all day Saturday.
Road construction will close a portion of the round-a-bout at the Leppert / Scioto Darby intersection effecting Scioto-Darby West Bound between Leppert Rd and Cosgray Rd. Avoid Cemetery Road west bound past Main Street. If you take Cemetery Rd west bound from I-270 turn left on Main St in Hilliard and travel south approximately 2 miles to Roberts Rd. Turn right on Roberts Rd. and follow Roberts to Alton Darby Creek Rd.
Turn Right onto Alton Darby Creek Rd and head North.
Turn Right onto Scioto Darby Rd. Turn Right into the Complex.
Chief Fisher told me the following must be done:
Right Turn In and Right Turn Out only. Northwest Bible Church (6639 Scioto Darby Rd) has given us permission to use their parking lot Saturday as a turn-around. (Saturday Only). We are trying to acquire barrels or barricades to block off the west bound center turn lane.
Staff the parking lot adequately to keep cars moving into the Complex off of Scioto Darby & direct people to parking spaces to prevent or minimize back-ups on Scioto Darby.
Inform tournament participants NO PARKING OR PARK ENTRY ON THE SHOULDERS (Both Sides) OF SCIOTO DARBY RD. Furthermore he suggests rope off the Scioto Darby shoulders on both sides to prevent people from parking on the shoulders.
Park at Minicipal Ball Fields and walk over. (If that is your plan DO NOT drive into the Complex for drop off).
I am going to park at the Ball Fields and we will encourage all of our families to car pool and park at the Ball Fields as well.
Attached you will find the Revised Complex Map (This map will be uploaded AFTER we make a few more changes this afternoon/evening).
Below you will find instructions from all directions to arrive at the Right Turn Only into the Complex point. (Continue Westbound for the Soccer Park Fields).
If coming from the north using Cosgray Rd:
-Turn right onto Scioto Darby Rd and head West.
-Continue past the Complex and thru the light. In 0.3 miles turn left into NW Bible Church.
-Turn around in the church parking lot.
-Turn right out of the church onto Scioto Darby Rd and head East
-Go thru the light and turn right into the Complex.
If coming from the South or East using I-270:
-Get off on the Roberts Road exit and turn left and head West.
-Follow Roberts road to Alton Darby Creek Rd.
-Turn Right onto Alton Darby Creek Rd and head North.
-Turn Right onto Scioto Darby Rd. Turn Right into the Complex.
If coming from the North using I-270:
-Get off on the Roberts Road exit and turn Right and head West.
-Follow Roberts road to Alton Darby Creek Rd.
-Turn Right onto Alton Darby Creek Rd and head North.
-Turn Right onto Scioto Darby Rd and head East. Turn Right into the Complex.
Here is the list of all final games by division. If your team is playing in a 4, 6 or 8 team division, they will have at least one final game. For combined Divisions with six teams (Boys U-09 Premier/Red) will have two final games. The eight team divisions will have a third place game as well...
Updated Schedule WITH RULES under Forms, Rules, More
We have made some minor changes to the schedule including several field changes. The Boys U-10 Stars Division has been completely overhauled. ONLY two teams will see a time change (which you have already approved). There are a couple minor tweaks that have been in motion for several days, now, that are still not reflected in the schedule.
A rules tab has been added as well.
We are working on building the online version of the schedule which will take most of the afternoon.
The field maps for the Hilliard Soccer Complex (HC-C1 to HC-C7, HC-D1 to HC-D4, HC-E1 and HC-E2) and the Hilliard Soccer Park (HSP-02 through HSP-04) are now on the site under FORMS, RULES, MORE....COPL/OCL Fall 2019 League Tournament Folder.
NOTE: Teams playing on HC-C1 through HC-C5 and HC-D4 MUST park in the Grassy lot near the back of the park (close to these fields).
